SENIOR THESIS: Potential Aquifer Recharge Sites in the Keene
Area. Measured soil recharge characteristics in the Keene region. Used Microsoft Excel
to format data for a GIS database. Currently developing a GIS map along with LANDSAT data
to identify aquifer recharge locations in the Keene area.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- stream gauging: Monitored seasonal volumetric flow rates of the Ashuelot River in
Keene, New Hampshire.
- soil infiltration measurement: Used ring infiltrometers to determine soil infiltration
rates of different soil types in the Keene area.
- soil tension measurement: Used one and three foot tensiometers to measure soil tension
in relation to precipitation and seasonal changes.
- micro well/piezometer installation: Installed micro wells and piezometers, using a hand
auger, to measure water levels and hydraulic heads at different depths in selected Keene
soils.
- soil analysis: Determined soil grain size distribution of various Keene soils using
soil sieve analysis. Also determined soil moisture contents for selected Keene soils.

Keene State College, Keene, New Hampshire
Taught an introductory Geology lab, which covered the core basics of mineral and rock
identification along with map reading and interpretation. Created a syllabus, class lecture
notes, exams, and grades for the students in the class.
LABORER
May 1994 to September 1995 US Army Corps of Engineers, Uxbridge, Massachusetts
Worked at West Hill Dam in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. Maintained the dam and the
recreation areas. Taught project manager how to use new IBM computer system. Received the
Manager's Award in September 1995.
